The simple act of arming your security system can reset your thermostat, providing for significant energy savings when your home is not occupied. A fire alarm can trigger a signal to light a path to the exits and flash exterior lights to help firefighters find your home. Arming the security system can turn on exterior lights, turn off the interior lights and dimly light a path to the bathroom. For added safety, the driveway, walkway and front door lights can be programmed to come on around the time you get home, or can be triggered by driveway sensors when you drive up.
